Description

An original March 30, 1930 New York Times Magazine article titled "Streets of Fashion Have Short Lives: Park Avenue, Invaded by Trade, Is Repeating the Familiar Story of New York Thoroughfares". The article consists of 2 pages, with 2 B&W photos (top photo by Ewing Galloway; bottom photo by Brown Brothers ). Pages measure 11" x 15 3/4", and are in fair condition (folded across midsection with some browning at folds; page 1 is slit almost all the way across; a few small bits missing at fold (see photo #4; large #44 written in dark pencil upper left hand corner; page 2 of article shows about 1/2" missing from left margin, not affecting text; 3" slit at midsection with small piece folded upward to look like its missing (see photo #5 which shows missing piece better on illustration). Please note that this is an old newspaper style article and while article is completely readable, paper is a bit fragile. I did not want to use tape on the tears for fear of damaging the paper. On the reverse side of page 1 is an article titled "Ireland Struggles With A Language", with B&W photo from a painting by Paul Henry (see photo #6). On the reverse side of page 2 is an article titled "New York Knows That Spring Is Here" with B&W illustration; plus various ads of the day (see photo #7).
